I'm not a fan of pollution. I would love to be an activist against our crappy treatment of the planet IF every single attempt to do so didn't entangle me with people and organisations who are convinced that the solution is to murder all our babies until we humans become extinct. Their suicidal tendencies are restricted to enforcing suicide on other people mind you. I am not aware of any green activist feeling so guilty about the Earth's demise that they commit suicide to prevent themselves exhaling another carbon producing breath, and decompose helpfully under a large photosynthesising tree.

One of the ways to track progress in the cultures wars is to observe the switches in language.

Married with eight children, I read for work and recreation which results in the current combination of G.K. Chesterton, Orson Scott Card and Terry Pratchet in my backpack. I'm not always certain which is work and which is recreation!
